Royal Purple Wins First Place Awards at Wisconsin Newspaper Association 2019 Convention & Trade Show

The Royal Purple won two first place awards for student journalism in the Better Newspaper Competition held as part of the 2019 Wisconsin Newspaper Association Convention and Trade Show March 7 and 8 in Madison. Governor Tony Evers congratulated winners Brad Allen for in-depth story and Shannan Lojeski for column writing. Staff also attended workshops, a job fair and keynote speeches by Milwaukee Bucks senior vice president Alex Lasry and American Press Institute executive director Tom Rosenstiel.
